Have completed the “Introduction to Open Science” training and have a PGD writing project in progress or planned.

Teaching modalities: Distance learning – Theoretical and practical workshop using DMP tools and case studies.

Assessment modalities: Participation in the workshop and evaluation of PGD draft work

Objectives: 

  • Understand key aspects of research data (scientific, legal, technical)
  • Raise awareness of open data challenges and benefits
  • Know how to define and structure a Data Management Plan (DMP)
  • Use the DMP-Opidor tool for drafting
  • Evaluate a DMP using ANR and H2020 frameworks

Course Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand legal and technical questions related to research data
  • Write a structured and compliant Data Management Plan
  • Use FAIR principles and practical tools like DMP-Opidor

This workshop introduces PhD students to essential concepts, tools and best practices for managing research data. It explains how to create a compliant and useful DMP aligned with open science initiatives.

  • Definitions and diversity of research data
  • Legal issues around research data
  • Storage, backup and archiving strategies
  • Data sharing: how, where, and why?
  • Purpose and components of a DMP (QQCOQP approach)
  • Writing a DMP using FAIR principles
  • Practical DMP writing using DMP-Opidor
  • Case study and peer review of sample DMPs
