Have a level in English that enables oral comprehension, participation and presentation. The course “Skills assessment & professional project” should have been taken before attending this course.

Teaching modalities: Distance learning. 60% theoretical input, 40% group workshops. Supervision provided by the trainer.

Student mobility: Not applicable

Assessment modalities: Active participation in theoretical sessions and personalized workshops.

The course is open to: All PhD students in Toulouse (no priority group)

Objectives: 

  • Build an effective application that will match recruiter’s expectations
  • Value one’s skills through effective and targeted communication tools (written and oral)
  • Identify the different types of recruitment interviews and know how to convince your interviewer

Note: The advice given during this course is mainly based on the French recruiting market.

Description:

This training is intended for PhD students in Toulouse looking to improve their employability. It focuses on how to communicate effectively with recruiters through tailored CVs, cover letters, and interview preparation.

  • Understanding the point of building a job seeking strategy before applying
  • How to build a job-oriented CV (academic CVs not covered)
  • How to build an effective cover letter
  • How to prepare and be convincing in a job interview

The course will be delivered fully in English by an English-speaking trainer. It includes a mix of theory and interactive, supervised workshops.
