Startech program was launched by WSL in Belgium in 2012 with the original idea to inspire and supportstudents from engineering schools to test and grow their entrepreneurial skills. Josiane Mothe, the coordinator of the European project FabSpace 2.0, successfully transferred the Startech program for Earth Observation data-driven applications in 2019 and then adapted it for UNIVERSEH.

The first UNIVERSEH Startech event was performed in Toulouse, France, October 4-8, 2021, with 19 students from the consortia.
